Structures of Flavonoids and Furostanol Glycosides Isolated from the Bulbs of Allium victorialis L.

Abstract

|
|
From the bulbs of Allium victorialis, two flavonoids and one steroidal saponin were isolated. On the basis of spectral data the two flavonoids were identified astragalin and kaempferol-3,4´-di-O-β-D-glucopyranoside named allivicin, respectively and the saponin was identified as 26-O-β-D-gluco-pyranosy-22ζ-methoxy-(25R and S)-5α-furostan-2α, 3β, 6β, 26-tetraol 3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl (1→2)-O-[β-D-xylopyranosyl-(1→3))-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→4)-β-D-galactopyranoside.
